Do you realize the entertainment you choose for your wedding, or special event, is responsible for 80% of the events success and the memories you will have for the rest of your life. But is the least expensive part of your special day.

1. Does your DJ have experience?

With experience come confidence and knowledge. Many things can happen during an event, both expected and unexpected. A DJ's ability to handle any situation that could arise can have a profound effect on the success of an event. Of course, it is not just experience that counts but it is one important factor to consider.

2. Does your DJ have an adequate music selection?

Does the DJ your considering have the music knowledge and music library to ensure a variety in music selection? Your DJ should have a library of over 200,000 titles.

3. Does your DJ have references?

The best way to check references is to check the Venues they are preferred at. Indivdual referrences could be from a neighbor, friend or family.

4. Does your DJ use professional grade sound equipment?

Many DJ companies use low end sound equipment. Your DJ should use only high quality sound equipment. Only by using good equipment can you be reasonably assured of sound quality and reliable operation of the equipment.

5. Will your DJ meet with you for a consultation?

A good DJ is willing to meet with you to go over your event to ensure your event goes as planned.

6. Does your DJ provide materials, song lists and informational planning forms?

Most reputable DJ's will be willing to provide a reception planner, vendor worksheet, song list, and other promotional materials.

7. Does your DJ return phone calls, faxes or E-mail in a timely manner?

Unfortunately some DJ's don't seem to care once they have your money and signed contract. They need to respond in a timely manner to your questions and concerns. Most DJ's are working on Friday, Saturday and Sunday night and may get back to you the next day.

8. Is your DJ familiar with the venue & on there preferred list?

It is nice to know if your DJ is familiar with the property were your reception or event is to take place. It makes sure the DJ knows where to go as well as the rules of the property. If the DJ does not know the property they must make the effort to drop by to talk to the people in charge.

9. Does your DJ act as Master of Ceremonies?

The DJ should, only if you wish it to be. Some DJ's can get carried away and act like a radio DJ or better known as a Cheesy DJ. They should be able to tailor themselves into what type of DJ you want.

10. Is your DJ accommodating?

The DJ should be accommodating to your needs. They should be able to answer your questions and make suggestions, after all unless you are a coordinator they should be more experienced and make you feel comfortable.

Let's take a look,

Most people invest a lot of time and money into there event to make it a truly special day. Once the event is over it is either a success or failure that gives you the memories you will have for the rest of your life". No one wants a failure! 80% of the event revolves around the entertainment but is only 7% of the cost. Doesn't it make sense to make sure you hire a professional experienced DJ? Remember the old saying, you get what you pay for.

Brides and Grooms commonly fail to see that saving $200.00 to $500.00 is not worth the sacrifice of all of their other investments. Entertainment can make or break any party or wedding and the memories you will have for the rest of your life". Most Brides and Grooms would be unhappy if the party failed to be a success. Yet, most fail to put time and effort into making sure they've made an educated decision. And, if the party stops being interesting, or looses it's energy, your family and friends will more than likely leave early.
